MODERN TECHNOLOGIES

FAQ

What are the methods of controlling monochromatic (single colour) RGB Technology displays?
For the period of changing  the content on the text and graphic displays, we have to connect  the display to a computer. Using a network adapter card (wire - LAN or wireless - Wi-Fi), we connect with the display, and next, by means of the RGB MonoStudio program (attached to the text and graphic displays on a CD), we can change the content on the display. After sending the project, we may disconnect the computer from the display. The information sent to the display is stored in the internal memory, and the power failure does nor erase the recently implemented project.

Is a computer necessary to control the RGB Technology monochromatic display?
No, it isn't. A computer is needed only to send the content, which is to be displayed on the text and graphic displays. As far as the text displays are concerned, to change the content we do not need a computer at all. It is enough to use a PS/2 computer keyboard (it is added to the set).
Is it possible to prepare the animation in external programs?
Yes, it is. For instance, in Adobe Flash program. To prepare the animation, you should remember to save the final files as graphic files with *.bmp extension. The files, using the RGB MonoStudio program, can be sent to the text and graphic display.
NOTICE: It is important to create the animation at the display resolution!

What are the functions of the text displays (controlled with a PS/2 keyboard) in the basis version?
1) Editing the text which moves from the right to the left side of the display.
2) Possibility  to display the text vertically.
3) Possibility to enter up to 20,000 characters, which are stored in the internal memory - power failure does not erase the entered information.
4) Possibility to change the speed of the text.
5) Possibility to stop the text - 1s pause (possibility to stop the text for more than a second).
6) Entering special characters (arrows, percent, @-at, etc.)
7) Possibility to display the current time, date and temperature.
8) Possibility to type in 10 languages (appropriate font):
- English,
- Polish,
- Russian,
- German,
- Czech,
- Slovak,
- Hungarian,
- Ukrainian,
- Lithuanian,
- Latvian.

Are the devices resistant to adverse weather conditions?
All displays produced by RGB Technology may be used outdoors. They are rain- and wind resistant, and work in the temperatures of -20/+70 degrees Celsius.

Pixel (the word based on a contraction of two English words: picture + element) is the smallest single (and sub-pixel - representing a particular colour) element of a digital image displayed on the screen (computer screen, television screen, etc.), printed (it refers to the dot print technology) or obtained by image processing devices (digital camera, scanner).

LED diodes, lifetime of the equipment, thin-profile technology
LEDs are luminous elements, successively replacing light bulbs and neon lights. However, not all diodes are suitable for display production. Unfortunately, maintaining high standards is costly. Cheap diodes (unbranded and unbinned) are characterised by a number of negative features, like: low brightness, which causes the display illegibility in the sunlight; a narrow viewing angle of diodes, which makes the device legible only from a perpendicular position; brightness dispersion between particular LEDs, which brings about an aesthetically unattractive effect; losing incandescing power after some time - the effects are widely known. In our firm, we use only such diodes that are free of the above faults and are thoroughly binned (each single item). The lifetime of good LEDs is supposed to be as long as hundreds of thousands hours of work (it means several dozen years). The thin-profile technology is a series of innovative solutions which, altogether, allow us to achieve an outstanding display thickness result - only 3 cm. What makes the 3 cm technology superior over the others? A thick device does not have a modern look. If you install an unaesthetic display near your company entrance, hoping to increase your prestige, you may cause an opposite effect. An ALU-made, thin device determines the display lightness. When customers describe even a switched-off product, they tend to say: "you can tell that it is a technologically advanced display generation".
